FLIGHTS

International & Domestic Flights Included

Make your own way to your gateway airport for your international flight to Lima. Enjoy in-flight meals and services. Arrive in Lima, the "City of Kings" famous for its Spanish Colonial architecture, extraordinary museums and cuisine. Lima is internationally recognized as the "Gastronomic Capital of the Americas", and its cuisine is considered among the most diverse and exquisite in the world on par with French cuisine. On arrival at Lima International Airport you will be met by our representative and guide you to the hotel which is located opposite the Airport.

Begin the day with a visit to the vibrant Surquillo Market, where students explore the colors and flavors of Peru through exotic fruits and vegetables sourced from diverse regions of the country. This visit provides insight into local agriculture, regional biodiversity, and everyday life in Lima. Continue with a guided city tour tracing over 500 years of Lima’s history, highlighting the transition from Incan roots to Spanish colonial rule. Visit the San Francisco Church and its catacombs to understand colonial religious practices and architecture. Enjoy a guided walking tour of Lima’s historic center, including the UNESCO-listed Main Square and the Cathedral of Lima, which serves as both a religious and administrative landmark.
Overnight in Lima

After breakfast, walk to the airport for a short flight over the snow-capped Andes to Cusco, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Americas. Students gain firsthand experience of Peru’s dramatic geography as they transition from coastal plains to high-altitude Andean landscapes. Transfer to the Sacred Valley, stopping at the Awanacancha Camelid Center to learn about native Andean camelids—llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos—and observe traditional textile weaving techniques passed down through generations. Later, visit Pisac Market, where students explore Incan heritage, local craftsmanship, and the economic role of artisan markets in rural communities.
Overnight in the Sacred Valley

Transfer to the Amaru community for an immersive cultural experience in the Andes. Students are welcomed with traditional music and kantu flowers, sacred in Incan culture. Participate in the “Decoding the Andean Textile” experience, where local artisans demonstrate natural dye-making using plants, roots, and minerals, each with symbolic and medicinal significance. Observe the full textile process, from wool preparation to spinning and weaving, while learning about the sacred iconography embedded in Andean designs. Time is provided for interaction with community members and reflection on cultural knowledge preservation. A traditional community-prepared lunch follows.
Overnight in Sacred Valley

Engage in the “Yachaqs – Children of the Earth” experience, focusing on ancestral Andean farming traditions. Students learn about Pachamama (Mother Earth), vertical farming methods, seasonal calendars, and sacred agricultural rituals. Under the guidance of local farmers, participate in planting or harvesting using ancestral tools and observe traditional oxen-assisted farming techniques. The experience concludes with a farm-to-table lunch using freshly harvested ingredients.
Overnight in Sacred Valley

Embark on a breathtaking full-day trek along “The Route of the Llama,” a scenic and culturally rich journey through the high Andean countryside. This rewarding hike connects the communities of Amaru and Chumpe, reaching altitudes of up to 4,410 meters (14,468 feet), and lasts approximately 7 hours. Follow the traditional paths used by herds of llamas — sacred animals for the Yachaqs — as they traverse the rugged landscapes. These llamas are vital to the community, providing both wool and food, and symbolize the resilience of life in the Andes. Along the route, you’ll pass by four pristine alpine lakes, including Lake Kinsacocha and Lake Hulchacocha, and witness expansive fields of native potatoes being cultivated at high altitudes. The scenery is dramatic, the air is crisp, and the connection to nature and tradition unforgettable. A picnic-style lunch will be enjoyed during the trek.
Overnight in Sacred Valley

After breakfast, transfer to Ollantaytambo station and board the EXPEDITION train for a scenic ride through the Sacred Valley. Today, enjoy a full-day guided tour of the awe-inspiring ruins of Machu Picchu, one of the most iconic and mysterious archaeological sites in the world. Rediscovered in 1911 by explorer Hiram Bingham, Machu Picchu is believed to have been built in the early 1400s by the Inca civilization. Myths and legends suggest it was revered as a sacred place long before its construction. Set high in the Andes, this remarkable citadel showcases masterful stone architecture and dramatic mountain views that continue to captivate travelers from around the globe. After the visit, return to your hotel. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Overnight in Aguas Calientes

Rise early for a second guided visit to Machu Picchu, with round-trip bus and entrance fee included. This early morning experience offers a rare chance to witness the sunrise over the citadel — a serene and mystical time before the crowds arrive. Continue exploring different sections of the ancient city, guided by a local expert who will share deeper insights into its architecture and spiritual significance. Then, set out on a rewarding trek to Intipunku, or the Sun Gate — the original entrance to Machu Picchu for those hiking the Inca Trail. Located about 5 km (an hour’s walk) from the citadel, the Sun Gate is aligned with the winter and summer solstices, when sunlight streams precisely through its two stone pillars. From this vantage point, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and the lush Urubamba Valley framed by snow-capped peaks. Later in the day, board the EXPEDITION train back to Cusco and transfer to your hotel upon arrival.
Overnight in Cusco

This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Cusco — once the capital of the Inca Empire — and discover both its colonial treasures and ancient Incan marvels. Begin with a visit to Cusco Cathedral, a masterpiece of colonial architecture and the finest repository of artworks from the Cusco School. Continue to the Koricancha, or “Golden Temple,” once the most sacred Inca temple dedicated to the Sun God. Its walls, said to have been lined with sheets of gold, reveal the grandeur and precision of Incan craftsmanship. Next, head just outside the city to explore the imposing ruins of Sacsayhuaman, a massive fortress constructed with colossal stone blocks flawlessly fitted together without mortar. This remarkable feat of engineering showcases the military ingenuity of the Inca civilization. Then continue to the ceremonial site of Qenqo, the Red Fortress of Puca-Pucara, and finally Tambomachay, where Incan aqueducts and fountains channel spring water through finely carved stone structures. Evening at leisure to explore the charming streets of Cusco at your own pace.
Overnight in Cusco

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Lima International Airport for your return flight back to Canada.
