Overnight in Accra
Start your day with a visit to the National Museum, showcasing West African culture and history. Next, stop by the Black Star Gate and Independence Square, then explore the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and the National Cultural Center, where you can shop for African crafts. After lunch, take a walking tour of Jamestown, Accra’s oldest neighborhood, and visit historical landmarks like Fort James and the lighthouse. Discover the area's boxing culture and its connection to famous Ghanaian boxers. Enjoy dinner and music at a local bar.
Overnight in Accra
After breakfast, travel to Lomé, Togo, after breakfast. Visit the DuBois Center, the final resting place of the prominent Pan-Africanist. On arrival in Lomé, explore the Grand Marché, a bustling and vibrant market, then visit the German Cathedral, a stunning Gothic structure. Afterward, head to the National Museum of Togo to discover ethnographic and artistic exhibits. Optionally, explore the Akodessewa fetish market and the artisan village to see local crafts and traditions.
Overnight in Lome
Today you’ll take a boat trip across Lake Togo to Togoville, a historic center of Voodoo, where many enslaved Africans were taken from. Visit the Maison Royal and active Voodoo shrines. Continue to Ouidah, the birthplace of Voodoo, and visit the historical museum and the sacred python temple, where pythons are revered. Learn about the transatlantic slave trade and the Portal of No Return, a memorial to those taken from Benin during slavery. End the day with a transfer to Cotonou.
Overnight in Cotonou
In the morning, visit Ganvie, a unique water village known as the "Venice of West Africa," where locals live on stilts over Lake Nokoué. Spend the day leisurely exploring and try your hand at fishing with the locals. Enjoy a fresh fish lunch, then head back to Lomé for a relaxing evening.
Overnight in Lome
After breakfast, you’ll head back to Ghana, arriving at our riverfront hotel in Akosombo for lunch. Located on the banks of the Volta River, the hotel offers stunning views. After checking in, you’ll take a relaxing river cruise, observing local fishermen. Later, you’ll tour the Akosombo Dam, a massive hydroelectric project built by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1965. The evening is for unwinding in this scenic setting.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to TK Beads, where you’ll learn about the traditional bead-making process of the Krobo people. Next, you’ll explore the Aburi Botanical Gardens and the nearby Aburi Craft Village, famous for its wood carvings and African drums. After lunch in Koforidua, you’ll continue our journey through the Akuapem Hills and arrive in Kumasi by evening.
Overnight in Kumasi
In the morning, you’ll visit the UNESCO-listed Ashanti traditional buildings, including shrines with symbolic Adinkra motifs. You’ll also visit the village of Adanwomasie, where Kente cloth is woven, and the village of Ntunso, home of the Adinkra cloth. Learn about the significance of the symbols and the traditional weaving techniques. After lunch, you’ll explore the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Ashanti Kingdom, followed by a visit to the National Cultural Centre and craft market.
Overnight in Kumasi
After breakfast, your journey proceeds south to Elmina. Our first stop is Assin Manso, a key site on the transatlantic slave trade route, where enslaved Africans were bathed before their final journey. You’ll then visit Cape Coast Castle, a somber monument to the Atlantic slave trade, and pay respects at the "Door of No Return." After the tour, you’ll head to Elmina or Cape Coast for the night.
Overnight in Cape Coast
In the morning after breakfast, you’ll visit Kakum National Park to experience its famous canopy walkway suspended high above the rainforest. Afterward, you’ll head to a local village for your traditional African Naming Ceremony, where the chiefs and elders will give you, an African name based on your birthday. The ceremony is accompanied by drumming and dancing.
Overnight in Cape Coast
After breakfast, you’ll visit the Castle of St. George in Elmina, the oldest colonial building in sub-Saharan Africa. You’ll explore the local fishing market and watch boat builders at work before heading back to Accra. In the evening, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
