FLIGHTS

International, Regional and Domestic Flights Included

Make your own way to the international airport to check in for your flight to Cairo.

Enjoy in-flight meals and services.

Welcome to Cairo! Known in Arabic as Al-Qahirah, Cairo is not only one of Africa’s largest cities (with a population of 17 million) but also the political and cultural center of the Arab world. Cairo’s old quarters retain their ancient charm, with many streets still known by names given to them by medieval chroniclers. Modern Cairo features architecture influenced by Ottoman and later European styles, particularly in commercial areas that developed during the population boom of the 19th century.

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Overnight in Cairo

Today, you will visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx — regarded by the Greeks as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. A single pyramid was constructed from approximately 2.3 million blocks, each weighing an average of two and a half tons. Faced with such immensity, one cannot help but feel the awe that has inspired writers and artists for centuries. The Cheops Pyramid is particularly fascinating, as its interior burial chambers are open for public viewing. Not far from the pyramids stands the Great Sphinx of Giza, dating back to the time of Chephren (circa 2620 BC). Hewn from natural yellowish limestone, the Sphinx stands 65 feet high and 187 feet long, combining the head of a pharaoh with the body of a lion. Return to the hotel afterward, with the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight in Cairo

This morning, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to your Nile cruise ship for embarkation — your home for the next four nights. After lunch onboard, visit the Luxor and Karnak Temples. Luxor Temple was central to the important Festival of Opet and was built largely by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. It served as the ceremonial site where the divine aspect of the ruler was affirmed. The procession began at Karnak Temple and ended at Luxor Temple. Karnak Temple, founded in 1928 BC as a small shrine to Amun, evolved into the largest temple complex on Earth, comprising three main temples (Amun, Mut, and Montu), smaller enclosed temples, and various outer temples — all built over 1,300 years.

Dinner and overnight onboard the cruise

After breakfast, cross the newly constructed Luxor Bridge to visit the Valley of the Kings, the burial site of many New Kingdom pharaohs, including Tutankhamun and Ramses the Great. You will visit three royal tombs (subject to availability). Tombs typically feature the king's names and titles, statues, and symbolic artwork. Next, visit the Valley of the Queens, which includes around 75–80 tombs of queens from the 18th to 20th Dynasties — including the tomb of Queen Nefertari, one of Ramses II's wives. Then, tour the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, the only female pharaoh of ancient Egypt. Located at Deir El-Bahri, the temple was built on a direct axis with Karnak Temple and dedicated to the Theban goddess of the west.

After lunch onboard, the cruise sets sail to Edfu via Esna. Enjoy afternoon tea while cruising through what the pharaohs once called the “Land of Gold.”

Dinner and overnight onboard the cruise

After breakfast onboard, visit the Temple of Edfu, the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt and the second largest after Karnak. Believed to be built on the site of the mythological battle between Horus and Seth, the temple stands as the final version in a long succession of temples on that location. Then sail to Kom Ombo, with lunch and afternoon tea served onboard. Disembark for a short walk to the Temples of Kom Ombo, a unique double temple dedicated to Sobek (the crocodile god) and Haroeris (Horus the Elder). In ancient times, sacred crocodiles basked peacefully on nearby riverbanks. While much of the structure has been damaged over the centuries — by the Nile, by Christians converting it into a church, and by builders repurposing its stone — the site remains evocative and atmospheric. As the cruise continues toward ancient Nubia, enjoy a festive Egyptian Galabeya Party onboard.

Overnight onboard the cruise

After breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam (completed in 1970), as well as the older Aswan Dam (1902). Next, visit the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis and famously relocated to Agilkia Island to save it from submersion during the High Dam's construction. Take a motorboat ride across Lake Nasser to approach the temple, enjoying spectacular views before arriving at the ancient quay. The Temple of Philae is rich in mythology, particularly the legend of Isis finding the heart of Osiris after his murder by his brother Seth.

Dinner and overnight onboard the cruise

After breakfast, disembark the cruise and transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight in Cairo

Today, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Dubai. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Overnight in Dubai

This morning, enjoy a half-day guided tour of Dubai. Despite its ultramodern skyline, Dubai has preserved its Islamic heritage through architectural landmarks like the Jumeirah Mosque. Make several photo stops before arriving in the city’s historic quarter, Al Bastakiya, where you can admire traditional wind-tower houses built by wealthy merchants. Visit the Al Fahidi Fort, nearly 200 years old, which now houses the Dubai Museum, showcasing the city’s rich past. Wander through the colorful textile market, then take a traditional abra (water taxi) across Dubai Creek. Continue to the Burj Al Arab for a photo stop at the world’s most iconic luxury hotel. Finally, stroll through the spice souk, where the air is rich with exotic aromas, and marvel at the glittering displays in the Gold Souk.

Overnight in Dubai

Today, after breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Dubai International Airport for your return flight home.
